AI guitar tone generator for HeadRush
Real HeadRush modules
Amps, cabs, mics and effects by their HeadRush names, placed across the unit's 14 chain slots on its Straight Path routing. The Core, Prime and Flex Prime share HeadRush's model library.
Footswitch scenes & amp A/B
Clean, rhythm and lead land as footswitch scenes, and the Amp and Cab blocks' A/B doubling holds two full voicings in one rig.
Send it, or build it
Send the rig to your HeadRush over Wi-Fi as a new rig (beta), or follow the numbered build sheet on the unit.
A researched starting point, not a blank patch
Every tone starts from researched, platform-native settings rather than a blank patch — close enough to plug in and play straight away.
Revise it in your own words
Want it closer to what you hear? Tell Dial My Tone what you want — “darker,” “more gain,” “tighter low end” — and it reshapes the preset using HeadRush's own modules and parameters. Shape the tone the way you hear it, without ever leaving your HeadRush rig.
Send it to your HeadRush as a new rig
On a HeadRush Core, Prime or Flex Prime, one button builds the rig on the unit over your own Wi-Fi, checks every block and setting against what the unit reads back, and only then saves it as a new rig.
Needs HeadRush Remote on with Authorize with PIN off, and Chrome or Edge on a computer on the same Wi-Fi. Firefox, Safari, iPhone and iPad can't reach the unit. On a Flex Prime, scenes are set up by hand. Back up your rigs over USB first if you're unsure.
- Creates a NEW rig. It never overwrites, renames or deletes one.
- Nothing is saved unless every block and value checked out.
- Test connection first: it only reads from the unit and changes nothing.
The build sheet, on every HeadRush
The fallback, on every unit. Dial My Tone writes no preset file for any HeadRush. Every rig arrives with a numbered build sheet, for when the send can’t reach your unit, and for a Flex Prime’s scenes, which the send does not set up yet.
On every HeadRush
Every rig keeps the build sheet as the fallback when the unit can't be reached from your device, and a Flex Prime uses it for its scenes. No preset file is written for any HeadRush.
Numbered steps, in HeadRush's own words
Create the rig and leave the routing on Straight Path, fill the slots in order, set each parameter to the value shown, set the scenes up, save. The values are the numbers the unit's own screen displays.
On the unit or in the Remote Editor
Follow the same sheet on the unit's screen or in its Wi-Fi Remote Editor, whichever is quicker with the unit in front of you.
Want to see a finished one first? The Knights of Cydonia example on the HeadRush Core is a real result: four footswitch scenes, an AC30 clean and a Diezel high-gain half on one doubled amp block, and the build sheet that comes with it.
What a HeadRush rig is built from
The generator is held to the unit’s real limits, so what you read is something it can actually hold.
14 slots, one serial path
Every rig is laid out on routing index 0, “Straight Path” — a single serial chain of up to 14 blocks, numbered the way they sit on the unit. The split topologies are not used, so the layout you read is the layout you build.
Up to 10 footswitch scenes
Scenes are the unit's own footswitch scenes, not global snapshots: up to ten on the Core and Prime, three on the Flex Prime. Every scene states every slot, so stepping between them is never order-dependent.
Two amps in one rig
Amp, ReValver Amp, Cab and ReValver Cab each publish a second, complete parameter set. Turn Doubling on, set Double Mode to Switch, and a scene chooses the A or B half — an AC30 for the clean intro, a Diezel for the riff.
HeadRush's own catalogue
125 guitar-offerable modules, 101 amp types, 82 cabs and 39 mics, read from a Core. Models are matched using HeadRush's own published “Inspired by” identities, which is what makes a name like Green JRC-OD resolvable at all. Four rows HeadRush has never described carry no identity, and Dial My Tone does not guess at them.
HeadRush questions
Can Dial My Tone send a tone to my HeadRush?
Yes, in beta, to a HeadRush Core, Prime or Flex Prime: it adds the rig to the unit over Wi-Fi as a new rig and never overwrites or deletes one. The Core is the unit it was built against; the Prime and Flex Prime are newer to it, and on a Flex Prime the scenes are set up by hand from the build sheet. No HeadRush preset file is ever written.
Which HeadRush devices are supported?
The HeadRush Core, Prime and Flex Prime. HeadRush ships all three on the same firmware line with the same model library, so tones are generated the same way for each. Dial My Tone's device facts come from a Core on firmware 5.1.0.2a63755. The Flex Prime has three footswitches, so its rigs carry at most three scenes.
What do I need to send a rig?
HeadRush Remote switched on (Global Settings > HeadRush Remote) with Authorize with PIN off, and this device on the same Wi-Fi network as the unit — using Chrome or Edge on a computer. Firefox, Safari and iPhone or iPad browsers can't reach the unit. Save or discard any edits on the unit first.
How is the signal chain laid out?
As one serial chain on the Straight Path routing, up to the unit's 14 slots, numbered in the order you place them. The blocks HeadRush cannot offer a guitarist — vocal, file-dependent and FX-loop modules — are never emitted.
Does it use the footswitch scenes?
Yes, up to ten on the Core and Prime (two to a footswitch past the switches a unit has) and up to three on the Flex Prime. Each scene carries an on/off state for every slot in the chain and which half a doubled block uses, so a scene sounds the same whichever scene you stepped on before it.
Can one rig hold two different amps?
Yes. The Amp and Cab blocks carry A/B doubling — a second complete parameter set on the same block — so with Doubling on and Double Mode set to Switch, one rig holds a rhythm amp and a clean amp and a scene picks the half.
How close will it get to the original tone?
Close enough to plug in and play, though no tool can promise a match — your guitar, pickups, and room all change what you hear. You start from a researched, platform-native tone rather than a blank rig, then revise it in your own words and it reshapes the settings toward the sound you're after.
