Monitoring notes

  • Since you are using headphones, the high frequencies of the fuzz might sound slightly more harsh than through a guitar cab. Keep the high cut on the cab block around 6.5kHz-7.5kHz to smooth out any fizz.
  • Use a slightly higher reverb mix (around 18-20%) to create a natural space and prevent the direct headphone sound from feeling too dry or fatiguing.
Pickup notes
  • The original tone was recorded using a Strat bridge pickup (DiMarzio FS-1 single-coil). Since your bridge pickup is a DiMarzio PAF Pro humbucker, expect a slightly thicker and warmer tone.
  • To compensate for the humbucker's higher output, you may want to back off the 'Sustain' parameter on the Bighorn Fuzz slightly, or use the Middle pickup (CS '69) for a brighter, more single-coil-like character.
