A BraveWords Mick Jones interview (the solo that literally set the amp on fire) plus tone-recipe features (songsfrommemory, TonesMatch) agree Hot Blooded was a black Gibson Les Paul Custom run wide open (volume/tone bypassed) into a 100W Marshall Super Lead head feeding Hiwatt 4x12 cabs with Fane speakers. Jones kept it bone-dry with essentially no effects, chasing a mid-forward crunch that cut through the mix. An occasional Telecaster is noted as a secondary guitar, but the signature tone is Les Paul into a cranked Marshall.
