Why we think this is right

Wayne Perkins explicitly documented his complete setup for 'Hand of Fate' in a 2022 Vintage Guitar magazine interview, stating he played a 1968 Gibson Les Paul Custom through a Morley Boost pedal into a cranked Fender Twin Reverb combo. Keith Richards recorded rhythm simultaneously in Open G tuning using a 1953 Fender Telecaster through an Ampeg combo at Musicland Studios in Munich. Plate reverb was added via the studio console during mixdown.
