Revise it in your own words
Want it closer to what you hear? Tell Dial My Tone what you want — “darker,” “more gain,” “tighter low end” — and it reshapes the preset using the Katana's own amp characters and effects. Shape the tone the way you hear it, without ever leaving your Boss Katana Gen 3 rig.
Boss Katana Gen 3 questions
Can Dial My Tone dial in Boss Katana Gen 3 tones?
Yes. You get amp character, gain, EQ, and effects laid out as clear Katana settings, ready to recreate in BOSS Tone Studio or straight on the amp.
Does it work with older Katana amps?
Older and unlisted Katana products remain on Dial My Tone's legacy four-block presentation. The expanded contract on this page applies only to the seven exact Gen 3 products listed above.
Does Dial My Tone write the settings to my amp?
No. It generates and displays Tone Studio-ready settings for you to recreate; direct Katana device writing is not implemented.
Are all Tone Studio features represented?
Not yet. SEND/RETURN and ASSIGN remain deferred and inactive. Explicit AI-marked defaults are collapsed in the result UI but remain available through Show all parameters; backend default omission, strict snapping, EFFECTS MODE behavior, drag-and-drop routing, legal-position validation, and structural-node visualization remain disabled until they are fully verified.
How close will it get to the original tone?
Close enough to plug in and play, though no tool can promise a match — your guitar, pickups, and room all change what you hear. You start from a researched, platform-native tone rather than a blank patch, then revise it in your own words and it reshapes the settings toward the sound you're after.
